Blogging in October – Avoid junk duplication in RSS feeds

If you are blogging to promote a business or service, or to build your reputation in your chosen career field, you already know the importance of frequent postings.

How do you get those blog postings on a regular basis without running out of content? Some bloggers have used RSS feeds to fuel their blogs.

It may seem like the perfect solution. An RSS feed is a form of syndication used online. RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication,” “Rich Site Summary,” or “RDF Site Summary.” No matter what you call it, there are risks associated with RSS feeds.

One risk is that your blog will be filled with junk content. When you rely on an RSS feed for your blog, you are not offering original or meaningful content. Your readers will not benefit and might not return to your blog again.

In addition to junk content, RSS feeds also often lead to duplicate content. If you are trying to build a reputation as an expert in any particular field, you do not want to have the same content on your blog as someone else.

Meaningful content (whether you write it yourself or have a team of ghost writers blogging for you) is key to successful blogging. Duplicated content will give your readers the idea that you might not be quite the expert they once thought you were.

It may not sound like much of a risk, but if your reputation is at stake, junk content and duplicated content are huge barriers to overcome. As you build your business or promote a service, junk and duplicate content could really create trust issues between you and your readers.

When you use RSS feeds for your blog, you may also be putting your readers’ computers in danger. Hackers can insert Java script codes into RSS feeds. When your readers open your blog, it exposes their computers to the hackers.

Does it mean you have to sit for hours every day to post your own blogs if you don’t use an RSS feed?

No, of course not. Programs such as Blogomator make blogging much easier. You still retain originality. You still offer quality content.  But Blogomator makes those frequent postings so much easier.

If writing is a struggle for you, work with a ghost writer or freelancer who can convey the message you need to in your blog. Give the writer several topics of interest to blog readers and ask for 300-600 word articles. Once you have approved those articles, you may set them up for distribution to your blog.

Blogomator truly emancipates bloggers, freeing up time needed to concentrate on other business aspects or to enjoy some much needed leisure time.

One of the best aspects of Blogomator is that no special software is needed. You don’t download any files to your computer. Just log onto Blogomator and simply upload blog entries into your online account. Don’t worry about formatting your articles for a blog. The program does it for you! You choose when to post and where, and your blogging is complete!

For professionals who have more than one blog, Blogomator is very liberating! You can use the program to post to any or all of your blogs!

With Blogomator, many writers choose to upload and schedule a year’s worth of postings at a time. If you want to make additions to those postings, it’s no problem. Just enter your additional articles and schedule them to post, too.

Blogomator eliminates the need to feed your blog with junk or duplicated content that you might get from an RSS feed. Plus, your readers’ computers will be safer since the content you upload into your blog will not be exposed to hackers.

Gathering sign-ups in September – Jeff Long’s Lead Capture Page

Hello again shipmates! This time I’m writing about a system for acquiring sign-ups and leads which must be the finest development I have seen.

As I have begun using it myself, I feel fully justified in reviewing and recommending the program here.

First off, it’s from Jeff Long, so his name itself piqued my interest. Second, for most affiliate marketers like myself, lead-gathering and list-building is a perennial headache. So I was curious.

I have learnt caution in this game, but after reading about the program I didn’t hesitate. And I have no regrets; I am absolutely delighted with Lead Capture Page (LCP).

Jeff Long is truly a genius. LCP allows you to set a capture / opt-in / squeeze page on any web page. And it it doesn’t matter whether you own the site or not! For instance, you can set it to work on your Face Book profile or your Titter account.

Not least, Jeff provides a genuinely useful user guide. (He is also a damn good instructor.) The guide is so good, so thoughtful and considerate of the user, that it’s a delight to follow. I have just come from there now, where I am enjoying myself mightily and boggling at the power this gives me.

I want to gallop straight back to my Lead Capture Page, so I won’t rabbit on any longer. But let me urge you to take a look at LCP below. You will find it very, very interesting to say the least.

Stay well, and keep your feet dry,

Dave ‘Moonraker’ Merrington

Moonraking & rambling in September

It happens when you turn your back — the calendar flips its pages and surprises you with a new month. It’s hard to believe that we’re already entering the fourth quarter of 2009. Not long before the first decade of the new millenium is history.

So what’s really been happening? (Other than economic excitements, political changes, ecological troubles and all the usual moil and toil in the lives of us ordinary citizens.)

Guru Bypass

OK, we’ve seen a number of remarkable offerings for affiliate marketers, and the emphasis has generally been on the newcomers to this work. One that really stood out from the crowd, and impressed me very much indeed, is Randy Smith’s Guru Bypass.

My Yorkshire friend is an original; he keeps himself independent, and now he has made one of his affiliate systems available to all. Like Randy himself, The Guru Pypass is an original. It looks perfect for newcomers to affiliate marketing who have little spare cash, no website, no list and no products.

Sokule

Then, there was the much-announced and eagerly anticipated Sokule. A business variant on Twitter, Sokule has various monetising functions, and a range of membership levels. I’m proud to say that I was among the first three to join at the beta launch. At the time of writng this, Sokule is still in beta, and more applications are constantly being added to it. Here’s a sample of one of Sokule’s attractive banner ads — give it a hearty click:

Alas, this must be a quick posting, as I have three tight deadlines to manage. So, I wish everyone the best of health and a prosperous time in September,

The Moonrakers are here an’ we’re goin’ ashore! Yaarrr!

Hey ho mateys, we’ve arrived an’ anchored in the cove!

We’re haulin’ the booty ashore and we need some more hands — it’s a heavy treasure it is an’ all. An’ there’s more than enough to go round!

So look lively now — come down ‘ere an’ join us! Cap’n Dave has wonders to reveal to yez.

For starters:

If you create ebooks (and most of us do), are you just like all the rest? Do you make the same old PDFs that everyone else does?

Come on! Stand out from the crowd. What I have to recommend here is just the best ebook creator that I have ever known (and I have tried quite a few).

This one creates ebooks in exe format. They look like printed books — beautiful to behold and to read! Each book has a front and a back cover, splash pages at opening and closing, and pages that turn. I just love ‘em.

Let me list just a few of the features and benefits:

1) You have branding opportunities on the splash pages, in the About section, anywhere at all on the book pages, on the front and back covers, and in the customisable software icon.

2) These exe ebooks are inherently viral, and you have many options in this.

3) You can set a variety of permission types and levels (including ”no right click”, password settings, and limitations on sample books.

4) From each project you create you can constantly replicate the same book.

So there you are. What? Are you still here? Click the link and set yourself apart (and have exceeding fun in creating your ebooks).

And, just for fun, here’s something to earn some cash on the side:
